The 8138 is an 8" ceiling speaker designed for use with a pre-install in-ceiling back can, resulting in high-fidelity performance at a cost-effective price point. The 8138 is ideal for a wide variety of commercial sound applications from restaurant and retail to professional offices and reception areas.

Can I use the 8138 as a retrofit in a venue that already has back cans installed?

Usually. As long as the existing back can has the common bolt-mounting-circle of 11¼ inches, the 8138 fits. Be sure to use screws that work with the mounting nuts for that back can. The 8138 is only 3.3 inches deep (from the bottom of the ceiling surface), so it fits in just about any depth of standard back can.
